Meet Your Surgeon
M. Daniel Hatch, MD
Board-Certified Orthopedic Surgeon · Shoulder & Elbow Specialist
Dr. Hatch is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with The Orthopedic Partners, an RCM Clinic, whose practice is focused on the shoulder and elbow. He completed the Harvard Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital and has practiced on the Wasatch Back since 2017, caring for patients in Park City, Heber City, and Salt Lake City.
A Shoulder and Elbow Practice Built on Explanation
It is important for patients and their families to understand as much as possible about their orthopedic condition. Dr. Hatch makes a special effort to thoroughly explain your diagnosis and to discuss both surgical and nonsurgical options so that the plan you choose is the one that fits your life. His practice spans the full continuum of shoulder and elbow care: rotator cuff repair, instability and labral surgery, fracture care, elbow surgery, and total and reverse shoulder replacement with the InSet® system, as well as revision shoulder replacement.
In addition to his elective practice, Dr. Hatch is an experienced trauma surgeon who helps meet the emergent orthopedic needs of the Park City and Heber Valley communities.
Training
Dr. Hatch attended Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, and completed his orthopedic surgery residency at Penn State Hershey Medical Center. He then completed the Harvard Shoulder and Elbow Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. During fellowship he spent two months in France training with world-renowned shoulder surgeons Pascal Boileau, MD and Laurent Lafosse, MD, whose techniques for shoulder instability and arthroplasty continue to shape the specialty.

Outside the Clinic
Dr. Hatch and his wife, Geidy, have five children and live in Midway. They chose the Wasatch Back for the same reasons many of his patients did, and they spend as much time as they can outdoors together: skiing, kiteboarding, hiking, biking, boating, and golfing. Treating the injuries that come with an active mountain life is, for Dr. Hatch, a way of helping his neighbors get back to it.
